Packaging…
The Brand in the hand
Packaging design is often an extension of the branding requirement brief. Often the need will include product naming. Creative thinking is required …the design must entice, educate and sell - all in a nano-second of the consumers’ consciousness. Below are a few products I’ve created through the years.
Bogel Winery
The Bogle family established their first vineyard on eight hectares of land near Clarksburg in California. The estate has since expanded to cover 14 different sites of the Delta region near Sacramento, but their boutique philosophy still continues. And their modern wines require contemporary branding and labelling.
Hacketts Men’s Hairdressing
Snip snip! At Hacketts it’s all about hair from the cut to the cleanse. Initially I designed the identity including the logo. Then the range of products where the typography couldn’t avoid getting a cut either!
Newicks … “Star better bread”
The brief was to create unique branding and complete ownership of their sourdough bread - even when it’s just the loaf on the shelf. The solution: start with what the baker can do with the loaf. Finish with star better bread.
Jess’s Ladies Organic Farm Milk
Jess and her family have been farming at Hardwicke Farm in gorgeous Gloucestershire for 3 generations with the highest quality organic pastures for our herd of 80 beautiful cows to graze. The ‘Ladies’ are all by name and are milked personally everyday to ensure they’re a happy, healthy bunch. Because happy, healthy cows make better milk.
The homely design solution for the packaging reflects the humble, timeless, cottage industry of Hardwicke Farm.
Mendip Moments Ice Cream
Mendip Moments award winning, luxurious ice cream is handmade on a family dairy farm in Somerset using milk and cream from their pedigree herd of Holstein cows. I created the name and the packaging design for the range of ice cream. It was inspired by the beautiful roaming Mendips. It was a joy to commission and work closely with Howard Phipps to produce a unique and wonderful wood engraving of the view from the farm which overlooks the historic Glastonbury Tor.
Henry’s Gin
A limited edition English gin fit for a King.
Super Chai Guy
The super cool alternative to coffee.
