Polishing Grenson shoes.
It was more than a decade ago that I was briefed to transform a dusty gentlemens’ shoe brand called Grenson. With a new proprietor at the helm and a focus on craftsmanship, style and individuality, the challenge was to re-define and modernise this iconic British brand.
Blending a rich heritage with contemporary flair, every aspect of the new Grenson brand had to be re-designed. From updating their marque to re-inventing Grenson’s online presence with a fully responsive e-commerce website.
An early adopter of digital marketing, Grenson quickly established a strong relationship with a younger, affluent audience through social media channels, email campaigns and regular newsletters. But there was also a need to deliver traditional brand presence at shop level, kitting out new boutique and pop-up stores in cool locations around the world, including New York and London’s Jermyn Street, known as an old-school shoe mecca.
CLIENT FEEDBACK
‘Les Welch gets Grenson. We first employed him back in 2006 when we acquired a dusty shoe company. The shoes were beautiful but the brand needed modernisation and Les has very much been part of that process from the start. The logo first, then updating every single piece of marketing ever since. From the swing tag through to our ecomm website. No project is too small or too big. The part he has played in our journey is beyond question’.
