Adding new depth
to the Cistermiser brand.
For 40 years Cistermiser has been the UK’s leading manufacturer of water management products – the valves, tanks, sensors and taps that monitor, manage and control the water outlets in commercial washrooms such as offices, factories, sports stadiums, hospitals, clubs and public buildings.
‘Awareness is not our problem’, briefed the Cistermiser MD. ‘Instead the challenge here is to clarify and explore the potential for the brand at a time when the safe, effective and responsible management of water has become an issue of global importance’.
The previous logo was outdated, did not represent Cistermiser well and lacked any brand depth.
It was first crucial to highlight Cistermiser’s core ethos - the belief that water is the world’s most precious resource. This is the driving force behind their ambition to revolutionise water management systems. I focused on the fact that 71% of the world’s surface is water. From here, I created a contemporary marque, which perfectly encapsulates this brand philosophy. Underscoring this new marque is a new strapline that boldly and confidently delivers the brand’s core thinking – ‘our world is water’.

’Les took on a very difficult brief to align two traditional and individually recognised brands. Our heritage and brand values needed to reflect both our lineage and future ambitions whilst developing the brand relationship. The approach was very structured and focused on customer understanding and perceptions.
The customer insight was then used to deliver a creative solution which went beyond our expectations, capturing the essence of both brands. Les challenged our preconceptions and produced brand guidelines and collateral which have been incredibly well received both internally and externally, enabling us to broaden the brand message …and increase sales’.
