For me, the whole telecommunications sector is fascinating and challenging in equal measure. Often I’m charged with the need to translate complex messaging into easy to understand communications. Often it all starts with the company marque. The ambition is always to create original, unique graphic identities that inform as well as stand out. Picocom produce a very small chip that empowers very large communication opportunities. That’s their whole offer - very technical, very complicated - distilled into a simple sentence. Once that was understood the ‘Picocom Pulse” icon was born. And a new brand was ready to compete against the established brands.

5G is the embodiment of a fundamental shift in how radio access networks (RANs) are built. After years of hype, 5G is finally becoming a reality. With this comes an industry drive and convergence towards enabling cost-optimised open networks. Mobile operators are looking to disaggregate their networks and diversify their supply chains so that they can break vendor lock-in, thereby reducing costs and encouraging innovation.
Picocom’s products enable this. With its baseband semiconductors (SoCs), and carrier-grade boards and software, Picocom is empowering wireless vendors and new market entrants to compete in the rapidly evolving disaggregated telecoms RAN market.
